Chapter 1 · The Dark WoodkeyPlayable
The purse
A worn leather purse, taken off the third beast.

La borsa della cupidigia: qua sotto senza non si paga nessuno. Caronte non traghetta chi non ha l’obolo.
Revealswhat is taken from the she wolf, and what happens the moment you have taken it.
The she wolf is cupidity, the beast whose hunger is never filled, and what you take from her is the purse: money does not exist down here, but a crossing still has to be paid for, and Charon does not ferry anyone with nothing to pay him. It is the third and last of the thefts, and taking it makes her move: she gets up and goes down the slope, which in the canto is the only thing the she wolf does.
In the catalogue it is a key and not a container: the bag was already there, and the purse adds nobody a single cell. Its job is to close the set of three, because the moment you have it the bow assembles itself. The line the game prints on it still says arrows fit in it, and coins, and the loose coins of the antehell have been taken out of the game: the sentence was left behind.
