The Well of the Giants

In the poem it is the joint between the eighth circle and the ninth: from the rim you see towers in the mist that are not towers, but giants standing inside the well. In the game the rim already stands, mounted by the fifth chapter's scene, and the descent that starts from it is the first half of the last chapter, and the last chapter is not built: there is no scene, and what follows is design and nothing more.

The obstacle is that the floor is too far down and the walls are smooth. The key is Antaeus, the only one not in chains: Virgil promises to speak of him back in the world, and he takes you both in his hand and sets you down. The currency is the same one the whole game runs on, fame, except that here it is Virgil who spends it and not you.

Nimrod shouts in a language nobody understands, himself included. There is no climbing back from here, and that is why the well and the lake have to live in a single scene.
