Lucifer and the Way Out

In the poem it is the centre of the earth: Lucifer driven into the ice to the chest, three faces, six bat wings whose wind is what freezes the whole lake, and three mouths chewing Judas, Brutus and Cassius. In the game it is the ending, and the ending is not built yet.

He is not killed and he is not stripped: the end is a climb, you take hold of the hair and go down his flank. Then you leave by the natural burrow, following the sound of a small stream, and come out «a riveder le stelle» (Inf. XXXIV 139).

The game ends where the poem ends, and the poem settles nothing: the she wolf is still out there, the promised hound never comes, and the first chapter was built knowing how the last one finishes.
